Design Breakthrough?
Love your words and graphics and love nothing better than jaw-dropping combinations of the two things? Then it would seem you just struck it lucky by finding this blog post. See the following link for the work of a graphic designer who goes by the name Tariq Sheshani. A man on a very different mission than most, it’s work you just have to see for yourself and design that is hard to put into only a few words: http://www.webdesigncore.com/2009/11/21/weird-and-bizarre-artworks-by-tariq-sheshani/
As you’ll notice immediately upon laying eyes on Tariq’s strangely fascinating hybrid use of English words and complex graphics, his work is as unique as his name. In the pieces, words like laser hair removal are integrated with photographs to create thought-provoking visuals that stand out all too well in our climate of quick-fix Photoshop work and soulless creative direction. If this is any sign of the future of graphic design, then many people would do well to take inspiration and follow.l
And to say Sheshani’s approach is welcome would be an understatement. For too long, graphic designers have relied upon image-trickery and obscure processes to dazzle their audiencess. With Tariq Sheshani’s work comes a clarity that might be more easily associated with traditional art-work where every brush-stroke is visible if you look closely enough. Indeed, Tariq’s work is all about the process. Shunning crowd-pleasing circus-tricks in favour of enlightening concept’s, the art is, in many people’s opinion, the next big thing and definitely something which anyone would welcome becoming a trend in the not-so-distant-future.
